Lab - Crash Test Dummy

Purpose:  This lab discusses the concept of vehicle air bags as a demonstration of the ideal gas law and gas stoichiometry.  Students (that's you) will calculate the exact amounts of acetic acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate necessary to generate enough carbon dioxide to fill an "air bag" to capacity using the current pressure and temperature of the room.

 

When:  After completing 9.6

 

Grouping:  Lab groups (2-3 MAX)

 

How do I get my grade?  Complete the lab procedure and leave your area clean.  Show work on the lab sheet and/or in your composition book.  Submit answers via the link to the right.

 

Due by:  no later than midnight, the final day of the lab.
