Lab - Alchemist's Pennies

An ancient art, Alchemy was the study of turning base metals (such as lead) into gold and can, in many ways, be considered the earliest form of chemistry.  Over time, this practice became an elaborate metaphor for the perfection of the human body, mind, and soul.  In today's lab, we'll study the classifications of matter by creating an alloy of copper and zinc, giving your "plain jane" penny a shiny makeover.
